Shoprite Weekend Xtra Competition Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Shoprite Weekend Xtra Competition Terms and Conditions. The below has been created to give every radio listener a fair chance at winning.
These rules apply when Ultimate Media is the proxy on behalf of the radio station and/or client for prize management purposes.

  1. The ‘Promoter’ is Shoprite (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).
  2. The ‘Radio Station’ refers to: Metro FM / Gagasi FM / YFM & HEART FM.
  3. The Competition will commence on Saturday 12 July 2025 and ends on Saturday, 24 May 2026. Giveaways will take place at the middle of each month during these dates. There are 12 giveaways per station in total.
  4. This competition is limited to all legal residents, citizens, or visitors of South Africa with a valid ID, passport, or residency proof, over 18 years old.
  5. Employees, directors, shareholders, partners (and their families) of the Promoter, Station, or related agencies are not eligible. Violators will be disqualified.
  6. To enter, send the word “Shoprite” to WhatsApp number 066 050 6830.
  7. Follow the prompts for a chance to win.
  8. Completed entries will be entered into a draw to win a R1000 Shoprite voucher.
  9. The Vouchers:
    • Valid for 3 years from date of issue.
    • Delivered via email/SMS with a unique code to use at checkout.
    • Can be used at any Shoprite in South Africa.
    • Cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred.
    • The Promoter/Station is not responsible for lost vouchers due to incorrect info or negligence.
  10. Finalists are chosen as per the station’s online, on-air, and social media communication.
  11. Listeners entering on multiple stations will only be selected for one.
  12. Using multiple phone numbers/accounts will result in only one valid entry.
  13. Finalists must share their full name, contact details, and ID number to avoid duplicates.
  14. By entering, participants agree their info may be shared with Shoprite, Radio Station, and agents for prize processing.
  15. Being a finalist does not guarantee winning. Final winners are chosen by on-air presenters/station.
  16. Finalists must be reachable during the announcement moment; unresponsive listeners will be replaced.
  17. If unreachable, another listener will be selected.
  18. Winners on multiple stations will only be rewarded once. Other wins will be forfeited.
  19. Each listener can only be a finalist once.
  20. The station’s decision is final.
  21. Winners may wait up to 6 weeks to receive their prizes.
  22. Hampers may take up to 8 weeks for delivery. Delays will be communicated.
  23. Winners must claim their prize within 30 days or forfeit it.
  24. Past winners must wait 90 days before entering again.
  25. Early re-entry and win within 90 days will result in forfeiture of the new prize.
  26. The Promoter/Station may cancel or change the competition without notice.
  27. Fraudulent or dishonest entries will be disqualified.
  28. Winners acting against the spirit of the competition may be disqualified at any time.
  29. Platforms must not be used for discrimination, abuse, or fraud. Violators will be blocked.
  30. Disqualified users attempting re-entry with different accounts/numbers will be replaced.
  31. Entry implies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  32. Participants agree to Shoprite & Radio Stations’ full terms and conditions.
