1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Welcome to the Competitions and Prizes for Radio Competitions T’s and C’s. The below has been created to give every radio listener a fair chance at winning.
1.2 These rules apply when Ultimate Media is the proxy on behalf of the radio station and/or client for prize management purposes.
1.3 The ‘Promoter’ is PEP and Capfin, divisions of Pepkor Trading (Pty) Ltd.
1.4 The ‘Radio Station’ refers to: Metro FM
1.5 The Competition will commence on, 4 March 2026 at 00:01 until 20 March 2026 at 23:59.
2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1 To be eligible to enter this competition a person must:
- Be a South African citizen or legal resident in possession of a valid identity document and/or passport and/or proof of South African residency; and
- Be 18 (eighteen) years or older.
2.2 A director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter or its affiliates/divisions/subsidiaries or any other person who supplies goods or services in connection with the competition or a spouse, life partner, parent, child, sibling or immediate family member, business partner or associate of the persons specified herein shall not be eligible to enter the competition and/or win and/or be awarded any prize in the competition.
2.3 The Promoter and the Radio Station reserve the right to disqualify any participant who contravenes this rule.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 To enter the Loan It or Leave It competition, listeners need to send the word “PEP” to WhatsApp number 066 050 6830.
3.2 Then, follow the prompts and include a short message explaining what big move you (‘Participant’) would make with a Capfin Loan at PEP for the chance to win.
3.3 Entry is free, but standard SMS charges, data charges, phone costs or other costs may apply. The Radio Station and the Promoter will not be held responsible for any SMS charges, data charges, phone costs, or any other costs incurred while participating in this competition.
4. HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS
4.1 Participant Selection
4.1.1 Each week, five (5) Participants will be selected by way of random draw (‘Selected Participant’) from all valid entries received during the competition period.
4.1.2 The five (5) Selected Participants will be ranked in the order in which they are drawn.
4.1.3 The Radio Station will attempt to contact the first-ranked Selected Participant off air using the contact details provided at entry.
4.1.4 If the first-ranked Selected Participant cannot be reached after reasonable contact attempts, or is unavailable to participate, that Selected Participant will forfeit their opportunity to play and no prize will be payable to them.
4.1.5 The Radio Station will then attempt to contact the next ranked Selected Participant in sequence, and this process will continue until a Selected Participant is successfully contacted and confirms their availability to participate.
4.1.6 Once successful contact has been made, that Selected Participant will be taken on air and will be deemed the finalist for the week (‘Finalist’).
4.2 The Finalist will be asked five (5) rapid-fire scenarios during the live broadcast.
4.3 For each correct “Loan It” or “Leave It” answer, the Participant will win R1,000 (the “base prize”).
4.4 The maximum base prize per weekly winner is R5,000 cash.
4.5 If the Finalist does not answer any of the questions correctly, no prize will be awarded for that week.
5. ENTRY CONTENT STANDARDS AND DISQUALIFICATION
5.1 All entries must be clear, coherent, and submitted in the format required by the competition mechanics.
5.2 The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Participant whose entry:
- is unclear, unintelligible, or incoherent;
- contravenes any applicable South African law, whether directly or indirectly;
- contains or promotes discrimination, hate speech, unlawful content, or profanity, whether directly or indirectly;
- infringes or may infringe upon the rights (including intellectual property, privacy, dignity, or reputation) of any person or entity;
- consists solely of recordings, videos, pictures, emojis, GIFs, symbols, punctuation marks, or any other format not compliant with the Competition entry requirements; or
- is otherwise deemed inappropriate, offensive, unlawful, or inconsistent with the spirit of the competition.
5.3 Any Participant whose entry falls within the above categories shall be excluded from winning a prize in the competition. The Promoter and/or Radio Station’s decision shall be final and no further correspondence shall be entered into.
6. PRIZE DOUBLING MECHANIC
6.1 If the weekly winner has applied for and been approved for a Capfin Loan at PEP between 28 January 2026 and 20 March 2026, their cash base prize will be doubled, up to a maximum of R10,000 for that week, subject to confirmation from Capfin of the existence of such a loan.
6.2 For avoidance of doubt, the weekly winner must have already applied for and been approved for a Capfin Loan at PEP on the date they participate in this competition to qualify for the prize doubling mechanic. If such weekly winner applies for and is approved for a Capfin Loan at PEP after the date on which they participate in this competition, such weekly winner shall not qualify and shall not be entitled to the prize under the prize doubling mechanic.
7. PRIZES
7.1 There will be three (3) weekly winners over the competition period.
7.2 Each weekly winner can win:
- Up to R5,000 cash, or
- Up to R10,000 cash if their base prize is doubled due to an approved Capfin Loan at PEP.
7.4 Cash prizes will be paid via EFT by the Radio Station once winner details have been verified.
7.5 EFT payments may take up to six (6) weeks from confirmation.
7.6 Prizes are not transferable, not exchangeable, and not redeemable for goods or services.
8. SEPARATE CAPFIN AT PEP NATIONAL COMPETITION
8.1 This radio competition runs independently from the Capfin at PEP national competition, where customers who apply for a Capfin Loan at any PEP store or via pepstores.com stand a chance to be one of 50 winners of R10,000, which competition ends on 24 March 2026.
8.2 Participation in the radio competition does not guarantee entry into the national competition, and participation in the national competition does not guarantee selection for the radio competition.
9. FINALIST AND WINNER PROCESS
9.1 All valid entries received during the competition period will be entered into a weekly random draw. One (1) Participant per week will be selected to participate live on air.
9.2 For listeners who use multiple phone numbers to enter this competition – only one entry will be chosen as valid.
9.3 When chosen as a Finalist, listeners will be asked to share their full name, contact details and ID number (this is to ensure that we don’t choose the same person multiple times or disqualify listeners because they have the same name and surname).
9.4 By participating in this promotion, Participants agree that their personal information may be shared with the Radio Station, Promoter and their agents to facilitate prize fulfilment.
9.5 The outcome of the on-air competition will be determined by the Participant’s correct responses to the five (5) questions asked during the live broadcast.
9.6 Finalists will need to have their phones close to them before and during the on-air competition moment/winner announcement time. If the station has not called, then please note that you were not selected as the winner.
9.7 Should a Selected Participant not be reachable for screening by Radio Competitions/ Radio Station before on-air competition moment, the next Selected Participant will take their place, as specified in clause 4.

The additional prize amount (being the difference between the base prize and the doubled prize) will only be paid once such verification has been successfully completed.
11.3 Winners will be required to provide their banking details for the purpose of EFT payment of the prize. Such details must be submitted via secure email communication as directed.
11.4 The Promoter and the Radio Station will not be liable for any loss or misdirected payment arising from incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate banking details provided by a winner. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that all banking information submitted for EFT payment is correct.
11.5 Should a winner fail to share their required details within 3 days, their prizes may face a delay in being delivered to them (whether via EFT or physical delivery).
